The town of Glashütte, a former silver mining town in Saxony, has long been an important name in the watch industry. This is one of the reasons why the photographer Roland Schwertner chose this place for his new watch manufactory Nomos in the 90s. In 1992 Schwertner launched the first four collections on the market - Tetra, Ludwig, Tangente and Orion. Until 2005, only Swiss movements were used for these models, but 05 were then only produced by Schwertner itself. Thus all conditions were fulfilled to be allowed to carry the designation Glashütte also in the name. An additional condition is it also at least 50% of the production in Glashütte to be furnished, but this was not Nomos enough and they decided to produce between 75% and 95% in Glashütte. The former railway station of the city serves as the place of origin of these beautiful luxury watches.
A Nomos watch combines style, quality, functionality and design. A selection of different dials, bracelets and case shapes leave no limits to creativity. Nomos watches not only impress with their outward appearance, but also with their genuine Glashütte perfection, including a rhodium-plated movement, blued screws, stop-seconds, Glashütte stripes (the cut shape), Glashütte Gesperr, sunburst and much more. Here there is something for every taste, whether discreet, eye-catching or unusual.
