History of TAG Heuer
The company Heuer was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer in Switzerland. In the last almost 160 years, TAG Heuer has initiated a series of innovations that revolutionized watchmaking:
1880s: First stopwatch mechanism.
1950s: First chronograph with world tide display and a dial for regattas.
1980s: First quartz chronograph with analog display.
1982: Sale to the TAG Group, renamed to the TAG Heuer we know today.
1999: Part of LVMH – Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.
2003: Official timekeeper of the Alpine Ski World Championships in St. Moritz.
