The Nomos company has been a household name in the watchmaking world for over 100 years. Roland Schwertner, a photographer and computer expert, founded NOMOS Glashütte in 1990 shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. After only a short time, he presented the first Orion, Ludwig, Tetra, and Tangente collections, which gave the company founder a dream start.
NOMOS Glashütte is so successful that the company has not only produced the required 50 percent of its products in Glashütte, but also 75 to 95 percent of its output. In Glashütte, extraordinary watches are created that are sold worldwide. The Metro, which celebrated its debut at Baselworld in 2014, is a model that truly deserves its name.

Matching timepieces for the cities

The Metro men's wristwatch, for example, impresses with numerous sophisticated detail solutions that only serve to underscore the visual classicism. The watch straps are made of specially water-repellent Shell Cordovan leather, which is both extremely durable and very comfortable to wear. At Baselworld, the world's most important watch and jewellery fair, the Metro was first launched in 2014. Famous for the world's major cities, the Metro is now at home everywhere. The beautifully designed, silver, straightforward dial shows the power reserve of the manual winding system, the current date and a small second. What is especially exciting about the dm Zeitmesserr from NOMOS Glashütte is that it does not display the usual 12- or 24-hour divisions, but rather those of a stopwatch. This gives the Metro a very special look, so that you can be at home anywhere when you are on duty, on a beautiful summer's evening, or during the vacation season
