As part of all six lunar landings in history, the legendary OMEGA Speedmaster is a true space icon and a symbol of OMEGA's pioneering spirit.
This 44.25 mm model, with its blackened movement and laser-etched mainplate and bridges to depict the lunar surface, pays homage to the Speedmaster's history aboard the Apollo 8 mission. The near side is visible through the skeletonized, black anodized aluminum dial, while the far side is revealed through the case back.
The entire watch, fitted with a perforated black leather strap with a yellow rubber lining, is crafted from black ceramic and features a yellow lacquered chronograph seconds hand and a laser-engraved tachymeter scale on the bezel filled with white enamel. The small seconds subdial (patent pending) is equipped with a Grade 5 titanium hand shaped like the Saturn V rocket. The 3D shape was achieved through laser processing, while the colors were created using white lacquer, ablation, and laser blackening.
The specially decorated movement is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869. Engravings on the case back include “APOLLO 8, DEC 1968,” “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON,” “WE’LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE,” and “CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER.”
