The origins of the brand go back more than 125 years: Watch wholesaler Johannes Dürrstein opened the Union watch factory in Glashütte in 1893. His ambition was to offer first-class and affordable timepieces – a principle Union Glashütte remains committed to today.

The company Union Glashütte was founded in 1996 as part of Glashütter Uhrenbetrieb GmbH, which also includes Glashütte Original. In 2000, the watch company was taken over by the Swatch Group.

ETA Movements from Glashütte: Proven, Service-Friendly, Refined

Unlike Glashütte Original, Union consistently relies on calibers from movement manufacturer ETA, also part of the Swatch Group, for its production. They are affordable, service-friendly and proven for decades.

But Union doesn’t just install the movements. In its own production facilities in Glashütte, the individual movements are tested, assembled, finished and regulated. The automatic winding system – the rotor – even comes entirely from in-house production.

Excepted from this is caliber UNG 56.01. The hand-wound caliber with 60 hours power reserve is an in-house development by Union and is produced by Glashütte Original. You will find this movement in the Johannes Dürrstein Edition of the 1893 collection.

The 6 Collections: From Sporty to Elegant

Today’s range includes six collections: Belisar, Noramis, Viro, 1893, Seris and Sirona. Each series has extraordinary models. You will find not only three-hand watches, but also numerous models with practical complications: chronograph function, power reserve indicator, large date, moon phase and second time zone.

Belisar – The Most Versatile Series for the Discerning Man

Most distinctive feature: the screwed-on case flanks made of stainless steel, rubber or red gold. Dial design from classic to contemporary, from artisanal cool to classic. Complications: chronographs, power reserve indicator, second time zone or moon phase. Fits business outfit as well as casual leisure look.

Noramis – Inspired by the 1950s and 1960s

Characteristic: curved scale, used numerals and indices. Complications like large date, chronograph function or power reserve indicator complete the elegant appearance. The collection also includes one of the rare Union watches with an 18-karat red gold case.

1893 – In Honor of the Beginnings

The 1893 collection honors the company’s beginnings. Classic design and use of style elements from historical pocket watches, such as the railway minute track. Highlight: the Johannes Dürrstein Edition in honor of the company founder, equipped with caliber UNG 56.01, which gives the watch date, small seconds and power reserve indicator. The model range also includes watches with regulator display or small seconds.

Viro – Reduced to the Essentials

An uncomplicated three-hand model and a chronograph. Union has reduced the design to the essentials and given the stainless steel watches a noble, timeless look. Three-hand model in 34 mm ladies’ version and 41 mm men’s version. Dials in white, black, blue or brown.

Seris & Sirona – For Women

The range is tailored to women’s needs. At 36 mm and 32 mm respectively, perfect for fine wrists and especially feminine. Diamonds on dial and bezel refine the watches into true treasures. Difference: Seris with small seconds, Sirona as typical three-hand watch with central seconds hand.
