The Master Control model was launched in 1992 by the Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre. It was the very first luxury wristwatch produced by the manufacturer to pass the then new internal testing procedure. Today, all JLC timepieces - as the brand is often abbreviated - must pass this test. Other Swiss watch manufacturers, however, rely on the chronometer test of the official Swiss Chronometer Control Centre (COSC). For example, Breitling subjects every movement to the precision test of the COSC. At Jaeger-LeCoultre, it is not the movement but the complete watch that is tested for accuracy, pressure resistance, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. These tests are carried out over more than 41 days. The "1000 Hours Control" process ensures the best accuracy and maximum quality.
How much do the watches in the Master Control collection cost
The Master Control Date is a basic Jaeger-LeCoultre model. Thanks to its simple and minimalist design, it focuses on the essentials: Displaying the time and date. For those who are more concerned with functionality, the Master Memovox with alarm function, the Master Calendar or the Master Chronograph can be examined in detail. The latter has a chronograph mechanism for stopping time sequences. Friends of extremely flat watches will be in good hands with the Master Ultra Thin.

At the heart of the Master Control Date, mechanical perfection and subtle aesthetics are inseparable. To ensure that this unique stainless steel model has a power reserve of 70 hours, the Manufacture has optimised the performance of the calibre, notably through a new barrel design and innovative lubrication methods, a readjustment of the seconds hand and, last but not least, the escapement - made of silicon for the first time - which significantly reduces friction. The case back of the watch allows a view of the components of this next-generation movement, which can be seen under a sapphire crystal back.
