NOMOS has a long history

The history of Nomos began in 1906, but the company had to be closed down already in 1910. The owner Guido Müller & Co. imported the Swiss watches and sold the watches with the well-known and renowned name Glashütte. A. Lange & Söhne had noticed this and had this business model banned by the court. In 1990 Roland Schwertner, who was actually an IT expert, decided to rebuild the business. Since then, the company has traded under the full name of NOMOS Glashütte/SA Roland Schwertner KG. With this decision, Schwertner is both cultivating tradition and expressing that the company at that time has nothing in common with the company existing today except for the name part NOMOS. The reason: the company is young and energetic, producing its own movements locally in Glashütte, with an average age of more than 34 years for the more than 70 employees. The success story of the comparatively younger company consists of high-quality watches that are available at extremely attractive prices. The Zurich collection of NOMOS Glashütte is an example of this.

The exterior of the watches is composed of leather and stainless steel. The leather straps are available in high quality leather, the cases in stainless steel. The dials are also presented in different versions such as white, black, blue and brown. They have no numerals, but there are indices.
