The Manufacture has been based in Le Sentier in the Swiss Jura since 1833, where it brings together various crafts under one roof. In addition to the more than 1200 calibres produced since its foundation, it also houses the legendary watch models. One of these classics is the "Polaris", which is now being honoured again and has become the basis of a new line: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris

The Polaris collection was created from six different basic models with blue or black dials - from the three-hand automatic 9008480 - Jaeger-LeCoultre € 5.370.- to a chronograph 9028471 - Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris € 8,050 to the Polaris Chronograph Worldtime 905T480 - Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph WT  € 11,290 - what these models have in common are design details such as trapezoidal indexes and the typography of the Arabic numerals. The shape of the case has been more clearly reworked and now has a completely new design with the proportions of a sporty, elegant watch. The crowns, which were originally very wide, have also been completely redesigned to increase ease of use. All watches in the new Polaris line are equipped with in-house automatic movements. In addition, new bracelets were designed for the line: a rubber strap with a "Clous de Paris" pattern and a three-row stainless steel bracelet.

Current reinterpretations

The other watches in the Polaris collection are almost entirely devoid of their vintage character. Despite their unmistakable family resemblance, they are all modern and sporty-looking watches. The Polaris automatic is the entry point to the collection: the 41 millimetre stainless steel watch with a blue or black dial has two crowns - one is used to set the time, the other to adjust the inner bezel. It is equipped with the automatic caliber JLC 898/1 and has a power reserve of up to 40 hours. It is available with a calfskin strap for 5,370. With the newly designed stainless steel bracelet, the Polaris automatic costs € 6,120. For timepieces of such a renowned brand with its own manufacture movement and the special feature of the rotating ring around the dial are quite reasonable prices.

The next step in the collection is the Polaris Chronograph with the automatic caliber JLC 751 in a 42 millimeter stainless steel or rose gold case. Visual balance on the dial is ensured by the absence of the small seconds hand that the movement would allow at the "6". For this purpose, a 30-minute counter is located at the "3" and the chronograph's 12-hour counter at the "9".

The stainless steel version is available with a black or blue dial and can be worn on various bracelets:  With a stainless steel bracelet the chronograph costs € 8,750, with a leather strap it is available from ® 8,050.
Last but not least, the Polaris Chronograph Worldtime with world time function and the automatic caliber JLC 752 in a titanium case is at the top of the new collection. Around the dial there is a city disc, which can be adjusted with the crown at "10" around the 24-hour ring. With a case size of 44 millimetres, the model towers above the other Polaris watches - this also applies to the price - the watch costs € 11,290.
The new Polaris line adds a new, sporty aspect to the Jaeger-LeCoultre range. It not only completes the collection, but also offers room for further developments.
