Breitling Chronomat B01 42 – The Ultimate Toolwatch
The Chronomat is Breitling’s statement piece. In 1984, at the height of the quartz crisis, it drew a line in the sand: a return to mechanical. Its origin? A mission for the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori.
The pilots needed an analog chronograph. Tough enough for a fighter jet cockpit. Elegant enough for a gala dinner after. Breitling delivered. The «Chronograph Frecce Tricolori» became the Chronomat one year later – and an icon was born.
Today, the Chronomat B01 42 wears its heritage in every detail: The unmistakable bezel with four raised rider tabs. The fully integrated Rouleaux bracelet with micro-adjustment at the clasp. Dials in bold colors.
Inside beats the in-house Caliber B01. COSC-certified chronograph, 70-hour power reserve, date at 6 o’clock. The case: 200 m water-resistant. Stainless steel, 18K red gold, or steel with a platinum bezel.
