Water-resistant to 300 m - the TAG Heuer Aquaracer

The Aquaracer Automatic is a series of watches from Tag Heuer, worn by well-known sportsmen and women in various sports on and under water. The watch is a symbolic recognition of the sport of sailing, but has many practical features that are not only important for this sector, but are also particularly suitable for divers. Thanks to its water-resistance of usually 300 metres, your Tag Heuer Aquaracer Automatic will ensure that you can practice sports above and below the water surface without hesitation. Sapphire crystal is usually used to protect the dial, and its ideal properties are designed to protect the dial. It is scratch-resistant and shows hardly any signs of wear even after continuous use. In the series Aquaracer Automatic Tag Heuer offers wristwatches for ladies and gentlemen. However, the watch cases of the ladies' watches are smaller and the wristbands slimmer than those of the men's watches, but all models have their sporty design. TAG Heuer watches are also convincing far from the race track, such as the Aquaracer. As the name suggests, this range of watches is intended for water sports enthusiasts and divers. The issue of water resistance is not an unknown challenge for TAG Heuer watch manufacturers: As early as the end of the 19th century, they began making water-resistant pocket watches.
The Aquaracer models are similar in design to standard diving watches: Rotating bezels with a 60-minute scale and luminous hands and indices characterize their appearance. In addition to the classic three-hand models, there are also versions with stop function. The latter are available either with the proven Valjoux 7750 or a high-precision quartz movement. The quartz chronographs are 43 mm in size and water-resistant to 300 m (30 bar), making them ideal for diving. Fitted with a stainless steel link bracelet, the new timepieces cost just under € 1,400 - A New Automatic Chronograph with a stainless steel bracelet is available for approx. € 2,500.
The Aquaracer is available with three hands and a date display with either automatic or quartz movement. The latter models are several hundred EUR cheaper than their mechanical counterparts. Such an automatic aquaracer with 43 mm diameter and ceramic bezel is available in new condition for about € 1.800. If you choose a watch with stainless steel bezel, you only need about € 1.500. as budget for a watch.
