History of Breitling

Breitling was founded in 1884 by Leon Breitling and is particularly known for having shaped the watch world with innovations such as the second independent pusher on a Chronomat watch or the tachymeter. The company was continuously family-owned until the late 1970s, when it was sold to Ernest Schneider, who, despite times of crisis, relaunched the famous models and even launched new ones. In 2017, Breitling was sold once again and is now managed by CVC Capital Partners CEO Georges Kern.
