Glashütte Original Special Collection: the impressive reissue of the Saxon diving watches

We have 1969: Glashütte Original introduces the Spezimatic Type RP TS 200, an extremely resistant diving watch for sports and combat use. Now, 50 years later, the company continues its tradition of functional instrument watches dating back to the 19th century and combines it with the technical possibilities of modernity in its brand new Specialist Collection.

Historical origins in slim design

The launch of the new series is by the specialist SeaQ, a diving watch that is both elegant and functional. With its small diameter of 39.5 mm, it is ideally suited to narrower wrists, adopting almost unchanged the design of its predecessor from 1969 and thus countering the trend towards ever larger formats. As a professional mission watch, the new Specialist reaches a water depth of up to 200 metres and, thanks to its high quality standards, it also easily survives other threats such as scratches, impacts and magnetic fields.

No wonder: Glashütte Original has put more than 170 years of experience in the construction of special time displays into this watch. Whether marine chronometers for the water, observation watches for the land or pilot's watches for the air - since its founding in 1845, this traditional brand has guaranteed reliable top performance in all areas of application.

Especially innovative and unique: diving watches from Glashütte

With the SeaQ Panorama date, the special models are extended by a more specific selection. Both its diameter of 43.2 mm and the dimensions of the date display, which gives it its name, significantly exceed the standard model. Water-resistant to 300 metres, it has an astonishing power reserve of 100 hours thanks to the new Manufacture calibre 36. Regardless of their differences, the two Glashütte editions have two essential similarities: a clockwise rotating and hinged bezel and generous Super-LumiNova coatings.

Both special diving watches are available in a range of resistant rubber, textile and stainless steel bracelets that are flexible and offer excellent handling in all environmental conditions. While the classic model is offered exclusively with black, particularly timeless dials, a galvanic blue, radiant version is added for the panorama date - ideal if you want a little more dynamic. A luxurious finish is always available from the in-house dial manufacture, where experienced craftsmanship ensures individual results. What more could you want?
