The Tech Gombessa is not just a Fifty Fathoms. It is a scientific instrument – developed with underwater biologist Laurent Ballesta for his Gombessa Project.

It was tested where other watches never go: 50 days at 120 meters depth, during saturation dives with closed-circuit rebreathers.

What makes the Gombessa different:

It's about duration, not depth. As Ballesta said: "The idea of a traditional watch for modern diving didn't work together until I realized it's not about the depth, it's the duration." Modern CCR rebreathers allow 3 hours underwater – a normal 60-minute bezel is useless. That's why Blancpain built the world's first 3-hour bezel with its own 3-hour hand.

Absolute Black: The dial absorbs 97% of light. No mirror, no reflection. Orange block indices for maximum contrast. Blue lume for dive indications, green lume for time – instantly distinguishable in the dark.

Built for mission: 47mm Grade 23 titanium – surgical titanium, lighter and harder than Grade 5. Helium valve, sapphire front and back, integrated rubber strap with central lug for perfect fit over the suit. Delivered in waterproof Peli-Case with dive extension.
