In 1893 the merchant Johannes Dürrstein founded the Glashütter Uhrenfabrik Union and aimed to produce particularly sophisticated and high-precision watches at a reasonable price. Today, more than 120 years after the takeover of the brand by the famous Swiss Swatch Group AG in 2000, these principles are still the most important basis for Union Glashütte.
