The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M remains one of the most purposeful and comprehensive collections of high-end dive watches available, and has been since its introduction in 2005. It is also an extremely powerful watch, fully equipped for deep diving and built with impressive overall quality.
In 2016, Omega introduced an all-new collection of the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m, including revamped time and date models with new materials, colors and mechanics - namely master chronometer movements.
While the brand has long relied on contrasting, bright colors for the collection, this one alludes to an opposite theme with black and white.... but striking nonetheless.

The specifics 

The basics of the collection are very much present here and the Planet Ocean 600m GMT stays true to the basics: a 43.5mm case in stainless steel, typical Seamaster twisted "Lyra" charms, a combination of brushed finishes and polished bevels on the sides, a robust case with screw-down crown, helium escape valve and outer bezel and, as the name suggests, a water resistance of 600m.
The Planet Ocean 600m has always been a large watch, available in a variety of sizes. However, even in its smaller versions, it is a watch with a strong presence on the wrist. This GMT edition, with a diameter of over 43 mm and a height of 17 mm, is no exception to the rule.
The watch is certainly large, but far more comfortable than expected - and most importantly, very balanced and firmly in place.

Co-Axial

The clear case of the Planet Ocean 600M dials ensures excellent readability of the time. Also, the luminous hands and indexes coated with white Super-Luminova allow the watch wearer to read the time accurately even under adverse conditions. The domed sapphire crystal allows perfect visibility of the dial. The models of the entire range also feature the Co-Axial escapement, which gives its name to the movement and is characteristic of Omega. It is a different type of escapement, the aim of which is to reduce the frictional resistance between the escape wheel teeth and the escapement plates. This requires less oil, which slows down the aging process of the watch.
