Meistersinger watches at Watchdeal.com

Since 2001, very special wristwatches have been manufactured in Münster: They bear only a single hand, at the needle-fine tip of which the time can be read. With this special feature, company founder Manfred Brassler places his timepieces in the technical and cultural tradition of early watchmaking.

Meistersinger models and prices

Today, we do everything we can to save time: We optimize technology, simplify processes and speed up communication. While we try to gain time in this way, we ourselves rush from appointment to appointment, determined by minutes and seconds. It sounds paradoxical that looking at the clock can help us relax. And yet it is confirmed when you look at MeisterSinger's single-hand watches.
MeisterSinger goes back to the beginnings of the art of watchmaking with its one-hand watches and shows us today how delightful it can be to limit time to the essentials.
MeisterSinger No. 03 Black Line, round men's watch, automatic, ETA2824-2, 38 hours power reserve, with a stainless steel case black DLC coated in diameter of 43 mm, black dial with an imprint in the color -Old Radium-, with four red hour indexes and a red hand tip, single hand, cognac saddle leather strap with buckle, AM902BL_SVSL03 for € 1.520,-.
MeisterSinger Lunascope Automatic Moonphase, round men's watch, automatic ETA 2836 with a power reserve of 38 hours, stainless steel case in diameter of 40 mm, height 12 mm, blue dial with moonphase and date display, light brown leather strap with folding clasp, LS908_SG03 for € 2.530,-

MeisterSinger - with an eye on the essentials

Our ancestors probably lived more in harmony with nature than we can imagine today. The point in time when man began to consciously perceive time itself as a phenomenon cannot be clearly delimited.
The beginning of time measurement by measuring instruments probably dates back about 6000 years. The first sundials, about 1000 years later the first water clocks. The time it took for a certain amount of water to flow through a small hole was used as a measure of time. Grains or sand were also used instead of water. We still often use the hourglass as a tool today.
It was not until the 14th century that the first mechanical timepieces appeared. Monks built simple mechanical devices that rang bells at regular intervals - the precursors of clocks. And inspired by the sundial, by the mid-18th century all watches were equipped with only one hand.

How much does a MeisterSinger Casual cost?

The Phanero is not only the smallest MeisterSinger model, but with its distinctive case and unusual color combinations, it is also one of the most beautiful. The Phanero's various dials feature hour appliqués in MeisterSinger's signature typography - some in stark contrast, others in a tone similar to the background. The diameter of the stainless steel case is 35 millimeters, while the height is only 7.5 millimeters.
Its slanted lugs seem to quote the numerals. A sapphire crystal completes the dial, and the Swiss hand-wound movement that moves the Phanero can be viewed through the quadruple-screwed glass back. PH303 Meistersinger Phanero Ivory PH303_SV12XS for € 1,170.
An exceptional piece in the MeisterSinger collection is the Salthora Meta; instead of an hour hand, a single minute hand rotates here. The hour can be read in a circular window. A sophisticated precision mechanism makes this unusual time display an extraordinary pleasure: Since over 60 minutes of tension are built up during the hour jump, it occurs in a flash and precisely, barely visible to the human eye.
Powerful and sweeping is also the design of the watch with the strikingly applied minute numerals. The stainless steel case of the Salthora Meta has a diameter of 43 millimeters and is water resistant to 5 bar. It features a domed sapphire crystal over the dial; the Swiss automatic movement that powers the Salthora Meta can be observed through the six-screw glass back. The Salthora Meta models are available with double folding clasps. SAM903 Meistersinger Salthora Meta Ivory SAM903_SG02 for € 2.090,-.
An exceptional piece in the MeisterSinger collection is the Salthora Meta X, instead of an hour hand, a single minute hand rotates here. In a circular window, the hour can be read.
The stainless steel case of the Salthora Meta X has a diameter of 43 millimeters and is water resistant to 20 bar. It features a domed sapphire crystal over the dial. SAMX902GR Meistersinger Salthora Meta X for € 2.330,-.

History of MeisterSinger

Manfred Brassler founded MeisterSinger in 2001 with the goal of producing the somewhat different wristwatch. His muse here were the traditional one-hand watches, which show only the essentials instead of distracting with the fast-paced second hands. The minimalist design gives these watches even more clarity. Characteristic features are the leading zero of the hour indices and the domed glass. While the first collections differed visually mainly in typography and technically in the type of drive - MeisterSinger offers hand-wound and automatic watches - in recent years the range has been expanded not only to include unisex models, but also more complex models that display not only the time, but also the day of the week and the date or a second zone time. For these additional displays, too, Manfred Brassler has developed a formal language with the principle of free-lying date and time discs that is entirely in keeping with the MeisterSinger idea, not least because the rotation of the discs is reminiscent of the celestial mechanics on which our time counting is based.
