Dubey & Schaldenbrand Mono Rattrapante NOS
The revolutionary idea of the split second chronograph, patented in many countries, was a creation of 1946. Dubey&Schaldenbrand made some changes to the basic movement "Landeron 51" to bring an affordable split second chronograph to the market. Part of the complication was placed under the dial, but the split second hand didn't have enough power to support it. The installation of a hairspring between the two chronograph hands provided the necessary power. This hairspring is also visible when the picture is enlarged a bit.
The "rattrapante" hand can be stopped separately during the 60 second rotation of both stop hands, by pressing on the stopper located in the crown.
The watch offered here is in unworn condition and was assembled in the 70s and 80s.
