Atmos

Jaeger-LeCoultre
Jaeger-LeCoultre is an extraordinarily traditional watch brand. JLC has been manufacturing watches in Switzerland since 1833 and has created more than 1200 calibers since then. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos in particular has an enormous recognition value and is a technical masterpiece of the 1920s.Located in the heart of the Vallée de Joux in the Swiss Jura, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been working tirelessly since 1833 to perfect its innovation and inventiveness. Under a common roof, 180 professions are brought together to give a face to timepieces and all components, however small they may be. Designing, assembling or refining - all the steps required to create a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch are carried out in the Manufacture.
Jaeger Le Coultre table clock powered by changes in air temperature
The Atmos is a mechanical table clock with a rotating flywheel, the pendulum, whose mainspring is wound by using the thermal expansion of a suitable liquid. The liquid used in post-1945 models is ethyl chloride, which reacts strongly to changes in temperature and exerts its forces on a can when the temperature changes. A temperature fluctuation of 1 degree Celsius is sufficient to allow this mechanism to run indefinitely.
