Jaeger-LeCoultre watches at Watchdeal.com

Jaeger-LeCoultre is an extraordinarily traditional watch brand. JLC has been making watches in Switzerland since 1833 and has created more than 1200 calibres since then. Especially the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos has an enormous recognition value and is a technical masterpiece of the 1920s.

Jaeger-LeCoultre models and prices

Antoine and Francois LeCoultre had a clear plan when they created the brand. They wanted to create beautiful, elegant watches that could be worn in everyday life without problems. This is particularly evident in the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, which was designed to be worn by British officers playing polo in India and therefore had to be extremely robust.
Probably the most famous Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is the Atmos. The special feature of this watch is that it winds itself up solely by fluctuations in temperature within the room.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Collection has deliberately avoided any accessories in order to concentrate on the essentials. The slim, elegant design is particularly striking.
In contrast to the Master, a Polaris offers a variety of useful functions such as a date display, an alarm function, a chronograph and a world time display. A faithful companion when travelling but of course also for everyday life.

The most sought-after model series are

Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos, which are available in a wide variety of designs. Amongst others, the Baccarat crystal glass designed by renowned artist Marc Newson. Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos is also available in gold, pink gold, rhodium-plated or gold-plated brass.
The Jaeger-Le Coultre Master Collection focuses on the elegance and purism of the watch. With the models Master Grande Tradition, Master Ultra Thin and Master Control, there is something for every watch enthusiast.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vouz Collection was designed for women, who, contrary to popular belief, were the first to wear wristwatches. Jaeger-LeCoultre was the first watch manufacturer to create women's watches entirely set with diamonds.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is probably the most recognizable watch in the world. The reversible case was born out of the need to protect the dial during polo matches. The Reverso is now available in many different versions. It is a very special model for both men and women. The back of the case offers space for individual engraving. If you choose a model with a visible back, you can admire the exquisite art of watchmaking.

Jaeger-LeCoultre - exceptional technology that inspires

The technology used in Jaeger-LeCoultre watches is often a minor miracle. The above-mentioned Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos continues to impress watch lovers around the world with its incredible technology. A specially developed gas mixture expands or contracts depending on the temperature, causing the table clock to wind.
But not only the Atmos inspires the watch community. Collections such as the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox, which has served as a wristwatch alarm clock since 1950, or the specially developed Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic, which was developed on the occasion of the Geophysical Year 1958 and is less sensitive to magnetic fields, contribute to the ever-growing enthusiasm.
Jaeger-LeCoultre with a high-performance Manufacture
As early as 1866, a watch manufactory was created by purchasing machines, introducing quality standards and bringing together all relevant trades under one roof. Only wristwatch manufacturers who produce the movement as well as many additional important parts of a wristwatch may call themselves a manufactory.
Every Jaeger-LeCoultre watch goes through the same process. First of all, the watch is machined. Then, all movement components are decorated by hand and the jewels are inserted. This is also called empierrage. The use of rubies as jewels has several reasons. For example, this reduces friction and increases the service life of the components. Some Jaeger-LeCoultre Collections have what is known as a snow-trim.
This special setting technique gives the goldsmith a great deal of leeway, as he only has to orientate himself on the component to be set and the motif specified by the designer. The diamonds are set in different sizes directly on the material and close together to achieve this very special effect.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Special Models

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysics True Second, released at the end of 2017, is an exceptional special model limited to 100 pieces. A tribute to the aforementioned model of the same name, released in 1958. But also in 2019, a highly sought-after special model will be released: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon in pink gold for 70,500 EURO (not in our range). True to the Ultra Thin collection, this model is also distinguished by its low height. It has both a perpetual calendar and a display of the moon phase of both hemispheres.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris is one of the latest models and offers a distinctive and useful function - the alarm. Originally, this Memovox function was designed to remind divers to go back to the surface. The sporty design and the reinforced and slightly curved glass, which serves to improve readability, also originate from a traditional Jaeger-LeCoultre model, the Grande Maison. The complications such as the date display, alarm, chronograph and Worldtime Chronograph are useful companions for many widely travelled wearers. The watch radiates a very special casualness and elegance.

History of Jaeger-LeCoultre

The brothers Charles-Antoine and Francoise-Ulysse LeCoultre founded the company LeCoultre in the Vallée de Joux and a few years later invented the first device for measuring micrometer distances. For this they received a gold medal. In 1877 the company was handed over to Antoine's descendants and renamed LeCoultre & Cie. Even then, the watch manufactory employed 480 people. LeCoultre & Cie produced such good movements that they produced most of the blanks of the famous Patek Phillipe brand for over 30 years. From 1907 Jacques-David LeCoultre supplied the blanks for the world's thinnest pocket watch. Designed by Edmond Jaeger. The collaboration with Edmond Jaeger led Jaeger-LeCoultre & Cie to merge with Edmond Jaeger, which is why the company was renamed Jaeger-LeCoultre.
In 1928, Jean-Léon Reutter created the first Atmos (also known as Atmos 1) in Neuchâtel. Reutter sold the patent to Edmond Jaeger in 1930. In 1929 the famous model Duoplan with the smallest mechanical movement in the world (caliber 101) was created. Queen Elizabeth II wore this watch at her coronation in 1953.
In 1938, the collaboration with Vacheron Constantin led to the merger of the two companies in the SAPIC holding company. Since 2000, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been part of the Swiss luxury group Richemont, with A. Lange & Söhne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Montblanc, Piaget and Vacheron Constantin.
